Dr. Liepert is a trauma and acute care surgeon who is passionate about surgical health policy advocacy. Her unique perspective and participation in health policy and advocacy stemmed from educational experiences she had while at Marquette University.
“Advocacy engagement allows impact on patients to extend beyond my clinical interventions in the operating room, hospital, and clinic,” she says.
Her advocacy in the legislative process allows for impact and policy changes affecting surgical care and patients at local, state, and national levels. Dr. Liepert was the chair of the Policy, Planning and Government Relations Committee of the Wisconsin Surgical Society and a member of the Health Policy Advocacy Group of the American College of Surgeons, among many other appointments.

Dr. Colosimo is a faculty member at the University of Arizona. She completed fellowship at Cooper Medical School inCamden, NJ and she went to residency at HCA Sky Ridge Medical Center in Denver and attended medical school at Midwestern University.
Prior to medical school, she was a consultant for the defense department. She obtained her Masters of Science in Health Care Policy and Management form Carnegie Mellon. She also was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs.
Dr. Jay Doucet is a Trauma, General and Critical Care surgeon.
He was an attending academic surgeon at the UC San Diego Trauma Division from 2007-2025. He was Chief of the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery from 2018-2025.
He initially started in general practice at 15 Wing, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where he was a flight surgeon, ER physician, aircraft accident investigator and served as team flight surgeon for the 431 (AD) Squadron (The Snowbirds). He also worked in the Air/Motion Sickness program launched by the Canadian Space Agency and CAF.
He completed training as a general surgeon in 1997 at Dalhousie University in Canada. He is a veteran of 22 years military medical service. He completed his trauma fellowship at UC San Diego in 2003 and has been a faculty trauma surgeon at LA County+USC Medical Center - US Navy Trauma Training Center, and at Vancouver General Hospital/UBC.
He has over 130 peer-reviewed articles in health services research, clinical ultrasound, critical care, disaster preparedness/deployed surgical care, trauma surgery, critical care, and advocacy for surgical patients and providers.
He is also a commercially rated airplane pilot and certified instrument flight instructor.
